EDINA, Minn. – ReconRobotics, Inc. today announced that it has appointed Kyle Nelson and Don Krantz to its Board of Directors. Nelson is the CEO of Adventium Labs, an internationally recognized research and development company operating in the fields of automated reasoning, cyber security, and system engineering. Don Krantz is the Chief Operating Officer of Proto Labs Inc., a fast growing leader in the high-tech field of rapid injection molding. Nelson and Krantz are filling the Board seats vacated by Dennis Schulstad and Charles Swannack, who are stepping down following six years of service.
During his leadership tenure at Adventium, Nelson has been instrumental in winning numerous contract awards from the U.S. Department of Defense, the National Institute of Health, the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, and the Department of Homeland Security. Prior to joining Adventium, he worked for 14 years in leadership and technical positions with Honeywell research laboratories, including programs in avionics and automated reasoning. Nelson holds a B.S. in Mathematics from Colorado College, a M.S. in Computer Science from the University of Minnesota, and a Mini-MBA from the University of St. Thomas.
Since 2005, Don Krantz has overseen engineering, technology development and manufacturing at Proto Labs, and has supervised the creation of several new products that have helped fuel the company’s explosive growth. Between 2010 and 2013, Proto Labs revenues increased from $65 million to $163 million, and net income more than tripled. Prior to joining Proto Labs, Krantz held senior engineering and management positions with Honeywell Defense Systems and MTS Systems Corporation. Krantz earned his Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Minnesota in 1995, and in 2005 he received the University’s Distinguished Alumnus Award in Computer Science and Engineering.
