ReconRobotics, Inc., the world leader in tactical micro-robot systems, announced today that it will introduce an advanced military and police robot with state-of-the-art reconnaissance capabilities at the Eurosatory defense and security exhibition to be held June 11-14 in Paris. The Throwbot® XT is a throwable, mobile micro-robot that provides both audio and video reconnaissance of dangerous environments. Military fire teams and SWAT personnel will use the new micro-robot to quickly gain situational awareness during high-risk operations and surveillance missions.

ReconRobotics, Inc., the world leader in tactical micro-robot systems, announced today that it has established its international headquarters in Lugano, Switzerland, signaling a significant advancement in the company’s three-year global expansion. Known as RRI Global SAGL, the new wholly owned subsidiary will oversee all sales, marketing and customer service operations outside of North America. Barry E.T. ReconRobotics, Inc. announced today that the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments (MWCOG) has purchased and taken delivery of 13 Recon Scout® XT micro-robot kits, which it has distributed to pre-designated Type 1 tactical teams throughout the Washington DC area. MWCOG purchased the tactical reconnaissance robots using grant funds from the Urban Areas Security Initiative, which were awarded to MWCOG in 2011. Area tactical and special operations teams will use the throwable micro-robot systems during high-risk tactical and counterterrorism operations to gain improved situational awareness and greater standoff distance.

ReconRobotics, Inc., the world leader in micro-robot systems for defense and law enforcement, announced today that it has acquired Xollai LLC, a systems engineering firm with a broad base of intellectual property in automated guidance technology, optics-based autonomous control systems, and image processing and recognition. Xollai was the 2011 winner of the prestigious Architect of Defense award given annually by the Minnesota-based Defense Alliance, which represents more than 85 regionally based defense industry organizations.

ReconRobotics, Inc. announced today that it has been awarded a $1.7 million contract for 126 Recon Scout® XT micro-robot kits from the Robotic Systems Joint Project Office (RS JPO) on behalf of the U.S. Marine Corps. This is the largest Marine Corps order in the company’s history, and it follows four U.S. Army orders placed in the last six months totaling more than 1,800 micro-robots. ReconRobotics plans to complete deliveries on this latest order by April 30, 2012.
