ReconRobotics Attends National Guard Association of the U.S. 140th Annual Conference

To Introduce the Throwbot® 2 Micro-Robot

EDINA, Minn. – August 15, 2018 – ReconRobotics, Inc., the world leader in tactical micro-robot systems, announced today that it will attend the National Guard Association of the United States (NGAUS) 140th Annual Conference and Exhibition in New Orleans on August 24 – 27 2018. ReconRobotics will be attending the conference for the first time and take the opportunity to introduce its newest product, the Throwbot® 2 micro-robot to the National Guard Tactical Teams.

The NGAUS is the Guard’s primary advocate in Washington, educating Congress on the roles, capabilities and requirements of the nation’s first military force. The vision of the NGAUS is to serve as America’s strongest advocate for promoting the highest levels of readiness, modernization and quality of life for our National Guard family as well as be a full strategic partner with our state associations and congressional delegations enabling effective communication of our message to continuously improve our relevance, readiness, modernization and quality of life; while promoting our rich militia heritage as the nation’s first military organization.

ReconRobotics is introducing the Throwbot® 2 – a throw-able, micro-robot system enabling operators to secure instantaneous video and audio reconnaissance within indoor and outdoor environments.

  • The total system weighs approximately 3 pounds (in default mode).
  • Is equipped with an infrared optical system that automatically turns on when the ambient light is low.
  • Video and audio can transmit up to 150 feet (45 meters) through walls, windows and doors to the OCU II.

Once deployed, the robot can be directed to move through a structure transmitting real-time video and audio to the OCU II allowing the operator to locate and identify subjects while revealing the room layout.

“For several years, our micro-robot systems have played a key role in protecting the lives of our military and law enforcement personnel as they conduct high risk operations,” said Mack Traynor, CEO for ReconRobotics. “We are honored to be part of the NGAUS’s Annual Conference to introduce our newest product delivering this unique capability to those in the National Guard Tactical Teams.”

More than 5,500 micro-robots are deployed or under contract, worldwide. Further, police and security agencies, including the FBI, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms and the U.S. Marshals, also use Recon Scout® and Throwbot® robots for tactical reconnaissance in high-risk operations, as do many allied military and police forces, worldwide.
