The Leader in Micro Robot Systems Announces Approval of Patent

EDINA, MN – January 12, 2020 – ReconRobotics, Inc., the world leader in tactical micro-robot systems, is announcing the approval of their 6th, U.S. patent, US 10,526,029 B2 for a ‘Two Wheeled Robot with Convertibility and Accessories.’

Mack Traynor, Chief Executive Officer at ReconRobotics, said, “ReconRobotics continues to innovate and develop proprietary combinations of engineering, durability and technology through our line of micro-robots and accessories with the goal of enhanced tactical performance for our military and law enforcement customers. We believe it is critical to protect those intellectual properties in order to protect the integrity of our products and our ability to continue innovating and inventing.”

Doug Christensen, Intellectual Property Counsel from Christensen, Fonder, Dardi & Herbert PLLC notes, “Based on ReconRobotics’ game-changing innovations, we have developed a broad intellectual property portfolio, including utility patents, design patents and trade dress registrations locking down their innovative, 2-wheeled robot designs with protections extending worldwide. Anyone wishing to be a significant factor in a micro-two wheeled ground robot space will have to go through ReconRobotics.”

Mr. Traynor adding, “Enhancing the safety and saving lives of responding personnel and civilians through improved reconnaissance, particularly in volatile and dangerous situations, continues to gain strategic importance to our military and law enforcement customers worldwide. Our robots can help locate subjects, determine if subjects are armed, confirm presence of hostages and reveal the layout of rooms while improving safety for all those involved. Further, this patent protects our ability to add enhanced sensor and tactical capabilities to our micro-robot platforms system.”

The Throwbot® 2 robot is a throw-able, micro-robot system enabling operators to secure instantaneous video and audio reconnaissance within outdoor and indoor environments.
• The total system weighs approximately 3 pounds (in default mode).
• Is equipped with an infrared optical system that automatically turns on when the ambient light is low.
• Video and audio can transmit up to 150 feet (45 meters) through walls, windows and doors to the OCU II.
Once deployed, the robot can be directed to move through a structure while transmitting real-time video and audio to the OCU II allowing the operator to locate and identify subjects while revealing the room layout.

We are developing a line of accessories to further enhance the Throwbot® 2 micro robot capabilities to better serve our military and law enforcement customers in the volatile and variable situations faced each and every day.
